​Hi all,

Our AGM is coming - 7:30 Monday 4th November - Golf Pavilion (just past the car park for the track).
Please offer to get involved at whatever level you can. It's not as daunting as it might seem. We are friendly group of parents looking to continue to provide quality athletics and healthy social opportunities for our children and older athletes in a club environment.
Please find attached the draft minutes of the last AVEAC Annual General Meeting. The Club made changes to the constitution that moved the AGM to October/November for a variety of reasons to help the club function more effectively.
Between August 2018 and February 2019 most of the previous committee retired from their posts. We were unable to fill some of these posts.

• Treasurer Karl Ponty: (Acting- happy to take on the role)
• Membership Secretary: Andrea Collins
• Officials Secretary: (Vacant)
• Facilities / Equipment Officer: Tim Bennett
• Welfare Officers: Joe McColgan (retiring this AGM), Sarah Joyce
• Social Event Officer: Nicola Tatham (retiring this AGM)
• Coaching Coordinator Foundation: (Vacant for 2 years)
• Coaching Coordinator Recreation: (Vacant for 3 years)

General Committee Members (5)

• Karen Yates
• Richard Woodward

Incumbents are happy to stand again in the above roles except: 

• Secretary,
• Male Welfare Officer
• Social Event Officer

which will remain vacant unless people come forward.


All roles can be contested and decided by vote at the AGM.
Unfilled named posts at this year's AGM will allow the new committee to co-opt people as General Committee Members with a view to dividing up committee tasks between us among a larger committee involving more people.


If you wish to put yourself forward to help please find a proposer and a seconder (members over 16 or parents/carers of members U16) to email [email protected] by midnight Friday 1st November.
Personally I would propose most of the parents I have spoken with as I know we all share common goals for our children.
